a true story
True Victory Church of God in Christ began on a Friday night, September 21, 1984, in the basement of Elder and Missionary Bradford's home in New Miami, Ohio. There were a total of 13 present, the Pastor and 12 followers (4 adults and 9 children).
Two days later Deaconess Gail Billingsley and her 3 daughters came and joined in our first Sunday service. We sat on two sofas and a few chairs. There were no musical instruments, just hand clapping, foot stomping, and tongue talking, for we had become The True Victory C.O.G.I.C. Mission.

Elder Bradford knocked out a wall and made one fairly sized room, purchased an electric piano and a set of drums, some tambourines got rid of the two sofas, bought some folding chairs and in a matter of a few days the basement looked like a small sanctuary. During the time in the basement, God saved and filled Sister Gail Billingsley, most of the children were saved, backsliders came back to the Lord, and before we knew it, the little basement sanctuary was packed.
Elder Bradford began to seek the Lord for where He wanted the church to be. After checking Cincinnati, Forest Park, and New Miami, he was finally directed to Middletown. He and the brothers searched Middletown and finally God blessed and made the for the way for us to purchase an old church building at 2808 Yankee road. The building was purchased on September 30, 1985. The Pastor and saints began to beautify the building, ( we must admit the building was uninhabitable before we began working on it.) On the second Sunday in October1985, the saints joyously entered True Victory C.O.G.I.C. in Middletown for their first service.

In September of 1995 during our eleventh anniversary we celebrated with a mortgage burning to that building.
On September 22, 1991 we marched from our building at 2808 Yankee Road to our new edifice at 1628 Smith Avenue. When we first saw this building the enemy attacked on our minds with thoughts of, How can a handful of people expect something this great? What bank would even consider working with such a few people? But with God, a $100,000 dollar loan, and 30,000 down payment, we were on our way. Some folks came, some left, and some stayed.
In July 2002, the Pastor had a vision. He wanted the church to be debt free by 2003. So with a great vision and great sacrifice from the Pastor, Lady Sharon, and the members. We went forth with a great vision, great sacrifices, a Rally Day Service, and other support and contributions. On July 27, 2003, the church was finally paid off. On March 21, 2003 Bishop Clifford L. Kimbrough appointed Pastor Louis Bradford as Superintendent of the Cornerstone District of the Ohio Northwest Jurisdiction. The Lord has been adding daily such as should be saved.

On April 28, 2022, Supt. Bradford transitioned out of this life. His son, Elder Jerome Bradford whom he had been grooming to succeed him took over as Lead Pastor in lieu of Supt. Bradford's untimely death.
We, True Victory Church of God in Christ, as a body of true believers have found out that God can make a way out of no way. He can open doors that no man can close. We found out that we can ask, and it shall be given, seek and we shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto us. For truly we have come this far in faith and in Continual Praise! We realize that in everything We Must Praise!
